Hint:In the periodic table the periods are placed from top to bottom and the groups are placed from left to right. There are seven periods and eighteen groups and one can analyze the periodic table elements that are in period two to make the correct choice.

Complete step by step answer:
1) First of all we will analyze the periodic table and the elements in the second period. The elements that are in the second period are Li, Be, B, C, N, O, F, Ne.
2) The metals are generally situated in the group 1 and group 2 of the periodic table and they are not present as total in any period. Hence, this option is an incorrect choice.
3) The non-metals are the elements that are generally present in the group 13 to group 18 and they do not specifically represent any period in the periodic group. Hence, this option is an incorrect choice.
4) The bridge elements are named as such because of the unique character of the elements present in the group. The bridge elements generally show similarity in properties with elements present in the next group i.e. elements of the third period. Hence, this option is the correct choice.
5) The normal elements are those elements which do not show any special characteristic. Hence, this option is an incorrect choice.
Therefore, elements of the second period are called bridge elements which show option C as the correct choice.

Note:
The close resemblance of bridge elements with the third-period elements can be due to the many physical properties of elements such as comparable atomic radius, the polarization of atoms and electronegativity of elements, etc.
