Hint:In this question, first we draw the simple diagram of a lemon crusher and show its various parts. Then we discuss how the load is applied on the lemon as the force is exerted on the lemon crusher. The direction of the force exerted on the lemon and the force applied need to be considered.
Complete step by step solution:
Lemon crusher is a mechanism which is used to squeeze lemons and other similar fruits to extract its pulp or juice. It is generally made of steel, plastics, ceramics etc. It is a type of lever and thus it helps human work by reducing the load.
Fig: Diagram of a lemon crusher
In the diagram, the load is represented by $F$ and effort is represented by $P$. The direction of load is downward and the direction of effort is shown in the figure.
We put the pressure on the two ends of the crusher which is called effort $P$, then as a result the load is applied on the lemon and it gets squeezed. This is the working of a lemon crusher.
Note:We can call a lemon crusher a class II lever. Because in a class II lever the load is at the centre of effort and fulcrum. So, in case of a lemon crusher the load is at the middle, the fulcrum is at one end and on the other end we put pressure by hand which is effort. So we can call a lemon crusher a class II lever.
