Hint :First of all we should be aware of the electric motor. The electrical machine which is used to convert the electrical energy into mechanical energy is termed as the electrical motor. It is also known as the electro-mechanical machine. The coil which is used in electrical motors is generally made up of copper wire, because copper is such an excellent conductor.
Complete Step By Step Answer:
Working of Electrical Motor
The basic principle of electric motors is based on the principle that when a rectangular coil is in a magnetic field placed and current is passed through it. The force which acts on the coil helps it to rotate continuously. The current produces a magnetic field around the coil when electric current is passed into the rectangular coil. A rectangular coil ABCD is placed between two magnets in poles N and S in an electric motor.
Difference between the electric and commercial motors:-
The split ring acts as a commutator in an electric motor. Electric motor uses a permanent magnet while an electromagnet is used in place of a permanent magnet in a commercial motor. The number of turns of the coil is more in numbers in commercial motors and a soft iron is used in which the coil is wounded.
Note :
Electric motors impact our daily life. This is because it is used in Refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, fans and computer hard drives. Almost all devices use electric motors to convert electrical energy into useful mechanical energy. The main advantage of a commercial motor over an electrical motor is that it enhances the power.
