
What is the difference between the inertia of rest and inertia of motion?

Hint: First of all we should know about the force, Force is a termed as the push or a pull that changes or tends to change the state of rest or the state of uniform motion of an object or it will change the direction or the shape of an object. Inertia is the resistance of the object which resists any change in its motion, including a change in direction. An object which is in motion will remain in motion or the object which is in rest remains at the rest, unless the external force is applied on it. The main cause of inertia is resistance.
Inertia of rest: The object which is at rest stays where it is placed, and it will stay there until external force is applied on it.For example- If we pulled quickly removed a tablecloth from underneath the dishes. The dishes have the tendency to remain still as long as the friction from the movement of the tablecloth is not too great.
Inertia of motion: The object which is in motion will continue at the same speed until an external force applied on it.For example -While playing football, when a player is tackled, and his head hits the ground. The impact stops his skull, but his brain continues to move and hit the inside of his skull. His brain is showing inertia.
Note:The inertia of a body is measured by two numerical: its mass, which governs its resistance acting on force, and the other is moment of inertia about a specified axis, which governs its resistance to the action of a torque.
