Complete Answer: A British engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel was born on 9 April 1806. He was born in Hampshire, London. He played a significant role in the early industrial revolution. He is credited to make the Great Western Railway (GWR), the first major railway route between London and Bristol. Several steamships and bridges are designed by him.
 Born in Portsmouth, his father, Marc Isambard Brunel was a notable engineer. His father sent him to France for his education, he studied at Lycee Henri-IV and the University of Caen.
