They are also an important content of the gut and gastrointestinal tract of humans.
Some of the bacteria are related to causing diseases in humans and animals. They are pathogenic in nature and can produce illness. The most important type of effect of pathogenic bacteria in humans are different types of respiratory diseases such as tuberculosis, pneumonia etc. Tuberculosis is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and it affects the lungs. This disease is found to kill about two millions of people annually.
Pathogenic bacteria and their other strains cause some other types of dangerous diseases such as pneumonia. Pneumonia is caused by Streptococcus and Pseudomonas strains of bacteria and causes serious respiratory problems in young children and infants as well as peoples with weak immunity.
