Hint: Under the effect of atmospheric conditions, when stomata opens for the sunlight and respiration the plants tend to lose water through the stomata. The difference between evaporation is that evaporation occurs from the open water body.
Complete answer:
The term transpiration is just like the process of evaporation but the difference is that in evaporation the water evaporates from the open body and in the case of transpiration it happens from the stomatal opening of the plants. When the outer conditions of the plant are very dry and when the process of respiration occurs the stomata of the plants open to take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen but along with oxygen it also loses water along with oxygen through stomata. This process is called transpiration.
Let's set up an experiment where we insert a stem of a plant having roots into a glass tube and its opening is sealed properly. we hang the tube in a clamp stand with markings of level of water inside the tube. We leave the tube unattended for some time, after that when we come and observe the marking of the tube then we will see that the level has risen because the plant has lost water through transpiration and thus the plant has absorbed the water from the tube.
Note: The levels of transpiration of water is directly dependent upon the level of dryness in the air, humidity levels of the environment and also the temperature of the environment. The water loss through transpiration is less in colder and darker environments.
