Complete Answer:-The term encompasses the diversity and availability of different species in a particular zone. It also includes evolutionary, ecological and cultural processes that possess life.
All the species whether it be a human or the ones of whom we don't know much, be it a rare species, threatened, vulnerable or endangered, all of these comprises biodiversity.
The term “biocultural” is used to describe the dynamic, continuously evolving and interconnected nature of people and place, and the notion that social and biological dimensions are interrelated.
All these relationships together constitute biodiversity. It includes the species, sea and landscape, and is connected to the places where we live and to our wellbeing as they all play a very important role in maintaining a diverse and healthy planet.
At the equator, where the climate is warm the terrestrial biodiversity is greater and this is also a result of high primary productivity. Biodiversity is richest in the tropics and not distributed evenly on the earth.
Biologists most often define biodiversity as the "totality of genes, species and ecosystems of a region". An advantage this definition carries is that it seems to describe most of the circumstances and presents a unified view of the traditional types of biological variety previously identified.

Note:- The diversity of all living beings is also dependent on other criteria such as the temperature, altitude, soils, geography and the presence of other species. The study of the different distribution of organisms, species and ecosystems, is the science of biogeography.
