Night blindness is caused by a deficiency of vitamin A (retinol) and its symptom is difficulty in seeing in the dark.
Rickets is caused by a deficiency of vitamin D or calcium. Bones soften and are prone to fractures.
Scurvy occurs due to the deficiency of vitamin C (ascorbic acid ). It leads to swelling and pain in the limbs, anaemia and exhaustion.
