We know that clean drinking water can be obtained from the ground and surface sources. They are healthy and do not cause any health issues. The clean drinking water is called potable water. We cannot drink non potable water because they are collected directly from water bodies like lakes, rivers ,and untested ground wells. The non-potable water should undergo certain quality checks and filters so that it can be converted into potable water. Non potable water is very unhealthy for us. They can cause many diseases to human beings. Some of the diseases which are caused by consumption of non-potable water are diarrhoea, cholera, jaundice, dysentery, typhoid and polio. We should avoid the consumption of non potable water. Potable water is used for drinking . It can be also used in making and cooking food items. We should always drink sufficient clean water because it is very important for our body to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
