Hint: It is a yellow and hot ball of glowing gases and plasma. It is mostly made up of hydrogen. It is a huge source of heat and energy. All the planets of our solar system rotate around it. It is the biggest and only star in our solar system. It owns 99.8 percent mass of the solar system. It is a very huge source of heat and light on our planet and makes life on Earth possible, providing warmth as well as the energy to organisms to form the basis of many food chains.

Complete answer:
The Sun is known as the centre of our solar system. The celestial bodies which are huge in size and composed of various gases possess their own light are known as stars. That’s why the sun is considered a star. The gravity of the Sun holds the system which keeps everything together from the smallest particle of debris to the biggest planets.

The Sun has seven layers which are the following:
Sun has three inner layers:
1. The Core
2. The Radiative zone
3. Convection zone
And it has four outer layers:
4. The Photosphere
5. The Chromosphere
6. Transition region
7. The Corona

The first four planets are inner planets. They are Mercury, Earth, Venus and Mars. Inner planets are close to the sun. They are smaller and rockier. They are called 'terrestrial planets'.

The last four planets are outer planets. They are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. These planets are also called as Gas giants.

Note: It looks like the sun has been like this forever. But it is not true. It is literally heating up gradually. Every billion years, it becomes 10% more luminous. Within just a billion years, the heat will be so intense that water will not exist on the Earth. The variant parts of the sun rotate at different speeds. The Sun has a hotter outer atmosphere than its surface. The Sun doesn’t have a solid surface. Because of the plasma, the sun is hot and plasma is also known as the fourth state of matter.
