Hint: Cell wall performs the main works to give a structure to the cell. It is surrounded by the cell. Cell wall may be rough, thin, thick, and rigid or may be flexible. It gives protection, support and structure to the cells. Different kinds of species have a different kind of cell wall composition.
Complete answer:
• Animal cell and plant cell both are covered by a cell wall, the plant cell wall is covered by cellulose, Chitin and fungal cells.
• The main material for the development of the cell wall is peptidoglycan it is tough made up of amino acids, sugars.
• The fungal cell wall is made up of a protein cell called Chitin with an additional layer called beta-glucan and Manno- protein.
• The fungal cell wall is composed of peptidoglycan. Bacterial cells are very different from the plant cell wall; they lack cell organelles like nuclei, mitochondria but they have ribosomes.
• In the fungi, a cell wall made up of Chitin. Chitin is a polysaccharide. Fungi absorb nutrients from the soil.
• But plants require chlorophyll to perform photosynthesis. Peptidoglycan is the main ingredient in the cell wall or it is also called as Murein.
• In the plant, cross linked cell fibres are present which is flexible and sturdy. Cellulose is the main fibre in the cell wall.
• The fungal cell wall consists of chitin and bacterial cell wall made-up of peptidoglycan and plant cell wall is made up of cellulose.
Note: Peptidoglycan is polysaccharide it has glucan units. Peptidoglycans belong to structural polysaccharide groups so it gives a proper structure to the cell wall of bacteria. Chitin is fibrous or thread-like material or component has a polysaccharide. Chitin is the exoskeleton of arthropods. It is the biodegradable natural polymer. It is the second-most essential natural polymer. It belongs to the acetylated polysaccharide group.
