For example: A cylinder etc.
If the curved surface of the cylinder is placed parallel to the path of light the shape of the shadow obtained is a circle as shown in the figure.
And if the curved surface of the cylinder is placed perpendicular to the path of light the shape of the shadow obtained is a rectangle as shown in the figure.
