Hint: Revolution is the name given to the movement done by the earth around the sun. Earth takes around 365 days to complete 1 revolution around the sun or we can simply say that it takes 1 year for the earth to complete a revolution around the sun.
Complete answer: To calculate the speed at which the earth revolves around the sun we firstly need to calculate the average distance between the earth and the sun. along with this we also need to know the time it takes for earth to complete one orbit.
-150 million km is the average distance of the earth from the sun. The time that earth takes to complete 1 revolution around the sun can be taken as 365 days.
-Therefore we can say that earth traverses the circumference of a circle in 365 days and the approximate radius of the circle is the average distance between the earth and the sun i.e 150 million km.
-The formula for calculating the circumference of a circle is 2 times pi times the radius of the circle. The circumference that earth travels comes out to be around 9.4 times 10 to the power of 11 meters. Therefore this is the total path the earth has to cover.
-Now let us convert 365 days into seconds and this comes out to be 31536000 seconds. Therefore this is the time taken by earth to cover the distance.
