Hint: Mundas - a tribal group that lived in Chota Nagpur in Jharkhand. The group does not have sharp social divisions like caste- societies but they share close ties of kinship.

Complete step by step answer:
Birsa Munda, a fearless youth from Chota Nagpur Plateau area was born on November 15,1857 to Sugana Munda and Karmi in Jharkhand. People of his tribe i.e. The Munda Tribe considered him a folk hero and believed he had miraculous powers. He was regarded as a Prophet ( Bhagwan) who could solve all their issues.
He fought for tribal rights against the British rule in the late nineteenth century but before elaborating on this it is imperative to understand what was happening with the tribal people under the British? The British extended their control over all forests and declared various forests under reserved forest category ( As state property). As tribal's were directly connected to forests; this considerable change in forest laws had a huge impact on tribal lives as their livelihoods were under threat, their religion appeared to be in danger and their land rights were snatched. Therefore, he mobilized people and formed a Guerilla Army to retort against the British system to control tribal lands.
To crush the tribal revolt, the British troops 'gheraoed' ; the Birsa's Guerilla Army at Dumbari hills and killed hundreds of tribal fighters. Birsa managed to escape but was later on arrested. He died in jail on June 9,1900 in Ranchi at a young age of 25.
Looking at the options given:
Option A- is the correct answer.
Option B- is an incorrect option.

Note: Birsa Munda's followers included other tribes of the region - Santhals and Oranos; but due the lack of charismatic leadership the Guerilla rebellion faded after his death.
