Hint: Biogas is a combination of gases, mostly made up of methane and carbon dioxide which are derived from agricultural waste, manure and municipal refuse as well as plant materials and sewage. As a result, it is a source of renewable energy.

Complete answer:
When bacteria consume organic materials (biomass) in the absence of oxygen, biogas is generated. This is known as anaerobic digestion. It happens naturally everywhere from within the digestive system to the depths of sewage ponds and may be artificially replicated in constructed containers known as digesters.
Cow dung cakes or animal dung cakes are made from cow dung, which is the waste product (faeces) from a cow's digestive tract or from other bovine groups of animals.
Both these fuels are two different types of renewable energy but biogas is considered as a better fuel in comparison to animal dung cakes due to the following reasons:
1. Animal dung cakes have a lower calorific content in comparison to biogas, which has a higher calorific value.
2. Animal dung cakes leave residue after getting burnt, and it also leads to pollution whereas biogas is a fuel which produces no smoke or residue.
Therefore, biogas should be preferred over animal dung cakes as it is a cleaner source of energy.

Note:
Energy that can be regenerated by natural sources or processes is known as renewable energy. It's a sustainable source of energy. There are several sources of renewable energy, including sunshine, wind and rain as well as tides, waves and geothermal heat which may be used to provide usable energy.
