Hint Soil erosion is referred to the displacement of the upper layer of soil, which might even be called soil degradation. This process takes place because of the dynamic activities of erosive agents, that are water, ice, snow, air, plants, animals, etc

Step by step solutionThere’s not much we will do about wind and rain as they're natural factors which aren't under our control. But we are able to follow some approved techniques or methods of preventing eroding, as follows -
1. Crop Rotation: Rotation of high residue crops like corn, hay, and tiny grain can decrease wearing away because the layer of soil's residue protects the topsoil from being anxious through wind and water.
2. Contour Farming: When planting is practiced in row patterns that run level around hills rather than up and down as that of the slope. This method has been proven to decrease runoff and prevent the danger of water erosion.
3. Strip Farming: Areas having particularly steep slopes or where there's no other method or technique available for preventing erosion, planting fields in long strips alternated during a crop rotation system (strip farming) has proven to be effective.
4. Terrace Farming: Many farmers have successfully combated erosion by initiating planting in areas that are flat. Such areas are generally created on hillsides in an exceedingly step-like formation (terrace farming).
5. Grass Waterways: By planting grass within the areas where there's concentrated water flow, farmers can prohibit a great amount of erosion that results from runoff, because the grass stabilizes the soil while still providing an outlet for drainage.

NoteSoil erosion removes valuable topsoil which is the best part of the profile for agricultural purposes. The loss of this topsoil ends up in lower yields and better production costs. When topsoil is gone, erosion can cause rills and gullies that make the cultivation of paddocks impossible.
