Complete answer: The Garo Hills is considered a part of the Garo-Khasi range in the state of Meghalaya, India. It also comprises the western margin of the Shillong Plateau and rises to a top elevation of approximately 4,600 feet or 1,400 meters.
These hills are inhabited majorly by tribal dwellers, most of whom are known as the Garo people. It is said to be one of the wettest places in the world. This range is also considered a part of the Meghalaya subtropical forests ecoregion.
Garo Hills are popularly known for their abundance of wildlife which attracts naturalists as well as photographers to capture the multifaceted sights of a unique and beautiful range of flora and fauna. Two mountain ranges that are, the Arabella range and the Tura range, also pass through the Garo Hills,
forming the great Balpakram valley in between.

Note: There are two districts present in the Garo Hills. The Garo Hills district was distinguished into two districts, namely the West Garo Hills district and the East Garo Hills district in October 1976. The erstwhile West Garo Hills district was in the future divided into two administrative districts of West and South Garo Hills in June 1992.
