Hint: As we know that the periodic table is the tabular display of chemical elements. These elements are arranged in the increasing order of atomic number, electronic configuration and the chemical properties. Hydrogen is the element with the lowest atomic number and oganesson is the element with highest atomic number. And the periodic table contains vertical columns and horizontal rows and it is known as groups and periods respectively.
Complete answer:
We have to remember that the elements present in the group zero are known as noble gases and these gases are placed in the far right vertical column of the periodic table. And these elements are non – metallic elements and the noble gases are helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon and redone. These elements exist as single atoms and they are inert in nature. Hence, the noble gases are also known as inert gas elements. The noble gases do not undergo any reactions. Because, all the electronic shells, as well as the outer shell present in the noble gases are completely filled. And the electronic configuration is highly stable. Therefore, it does not gain or lose the electrons. Hence the gases are known as noble gases.
Note:
As we know that the group zero elements is known as noble gases or inert gas elements. These elements will not react with any other elements and do not undergo any reaction due to the presence of completely filled electron shells including the outermost shell and it contain maximum number of valence electrons in their outermost shell. In the atmosphere, the noble gases are present in very small amounts.
