It has the chemical formula of $ {\left( {N{H_4}} \right)_2}Fe{\left( {S{O_4}} \right)_2}{\left( {{H_2}O} \right)_6} $.	It has the chemical formula of $FeSO_4. 7H_2O$.
It is also known as a salt but not complex compounds, though it consists of a central metal atom along with the groups which act as ligands.	It is formed by the combination of iron metal and sulphate groups. The name vitriol comes from the Latin language which means glass.
