Hint: Water is the most precious natural resource that has varying importance in our lives. It is found under the water and almost everywhere that includes plains, mountains, deserts, hills, etc. It needs to undergo certain treatment before use.

Complete answer:
The groundwater is the water that is stored or present under the groundwater and maintains the water table while the pond water is the water that is stored in the pond when the rainfall occurs or by other means. The stored in the ground is safer than the water when stored in the pond because,
1) The water is unable to evaporate when it is stored underground but when the water is stored in the pond it is open and can easily evaporate.
2) The groundwater will help in recharging or refilling the wells when they are spread out but in the case of the pond water they cannot reach the wells to recharge them.
3) The groundwater will help in providing the moisture for the vegetation or cropping over a wide area from beneath the soil while the pond water cannot do so.
4) The accumulation of insects and their breeding is prevented in the case of groundwater but since the pond water is opened and is easily contaminated then the insects will accumulate and start to breed.
5) The groundwater is free from any human and animal wastes and other contamination since it is embedded deep inside the ground while the pond water is opened freely and can be easily contaminated.
The water can be saved by:
-For watering the plants, use the water used for washing vegetables
-Don’t waste more water during bathing, flushing, etc.
-Harvesting and conserving water.
-The water which is dirty can be used for cleaning vehicles or for gardening instead of throwing them.

So, the correct answer is ‘All of the above’.

Note:
To save our water table we can utilize three R's
Reduce - reducing the utilization of water and reducing its wastage. Reuse - reusing similar water again for instance water utilized for washing clothes can be utilized for cleaning purposes. Recycle - The wastewater from the industry can be used again for various purposes by the process of recycling and thus saves water.
