Hint: Joints in the human body are used to connect two bones together. all joints are able to move allowing bones to be free. While some are immovable. Cartilage covers the bones in the joint part. If a joint would not have been present the bones won’t have any movement. Several joints are present in human body let us discuss about that-
Complete answer-
In a hinge joint the movement will be from one side like a door the other part or side of the joint is fixed. Example- elbow joint. A gliding joint, also known as planar joint, is a type of synovial joint between bones which provides flat surfaces.
Cartilage is a flexible and tender yet strong fibrous bone. Different types of cartilages are- Elastic cartilage, fibrocartilage, Hyaline cartilage etc. examples of elastic cartilage are- ear and epiglottis similarly example of fibrocartilage is found at disks between spinal cords and hyaline cartilage is present in larynx, trachea and ribs also in nose.
Fibrous as the name suggests is fiber in nature it has collagen fibers and is present in pubic symphysis. It is also the strongest cartilage among all the cartilages. It has alternate layers where fibers are placed between the organs to provide cushion-like structure.
Note:
Other joints include- Angular joint- the joint which is movable in a particular angle or certain angle type is called an angular joint. Pivot joint- pivot joint has a cylindrical shaped bone which contains a ring inside the joint. There are several joints in the body named as- ball and socket joint which is present in hip and shoulder joints. They show backward and forward movements. Hinge and pivot joint we had discussed. There are other joints like-saddle joint, Condyloid joint, Ellipsoidal joint.
