Hint: Law of conservation of mass is the law that states about the mass of the compounds involved in the chemical reaction. According to this law the mass of the reactants and products are equal in the chemical reaction. But there is a limitation that the mass and energy were conserved but not only the mass.
Complete answer:
Law of conservation of mass. It defines when a chemical change occurs. The mass of the reactants will be equal to the mass of the reactants. Thus, the total mass is conserved in this chemical change.
But there were some limitations to this law. Nuclear reactions when reactants undergo a reaction to form products there will be a release or absorption of energy. Thus, some of the mass is converted into energy which means the mass is not conserved. But, the sum of the energy and mass is conserved. The formula for the mass converted into energy will be given by it was given by a scientist Einstein which can be called an equivalence energy formula.
Thus, nuclear reactions will not obey the law of conservation of mass as it has a deviation from this law.
Note:
During some physical changes like melting of ice also has the conservation of mass. Thus, according to this law both physical and chemical changes obey the law of conservation of mass. Only nuclear reactions do not obey the law of conservation of mass.
