Homeostasis in ecology is the ability of an ecosystem to maintain its overall stability despite any disturbances. When the biodiversity combines with species interactions then it will lead to the homeostasis. By this an equilibrium is maintained in the ecosystem, thus the ecosystem becomes stable but stability cannot be completely maintained since diversity is quite high in the ecosystem.
- For maintaining the homeostasis certain factors are to be maintained at a particular level or range, if the population species comes in between that range then the ecosystem will remain stable.

3) pH: The level of pH needs to be maintained and is maintained by the lungs. The pH levels can be increased or decreased when the amount of carbon dioxide inhaled or exhaled through the diaphragm varies.
4) Blood pressure: The blood pressure is maintained by the brain when it sends signals to the heart. The brain can increase or decrease the speed of the blood pressure also.
5) Glucose: The glucose level is to be maintained for a healthy body, if the glucose level increases then the body will release insulin hormone and if the glucose level decreases then the body will transform the stirred glycogen present in the blood to glucose.

Homeostasis in an ecological system is maintained through negative feedback. Therefore this system occurs mainly within the body. It involves a response that is reverse of the change detected.
