Hint- In order to solve the problem use the basic laws of conversion of one unit into another. Use the relation between meter and centimeter to find the answer.
Given that: Ankit is 160 cm tall.
We have to convert the height in meters.
We know the relation between meter and centimeter.
$ \Rightarrow 1meter = 100cm$
So let us convert cm into meters by dividing the height by 100.
$
\because 1m = 100cm \\
\Rightarrow 1cm = \dfrac{1}{{100}}m \\
\Rightarrow 160cm = \dfrac{{160}}{{100}}m \\
\Rightarrow 160cm = 1.6m \\
$
Hence, the height of ankit is 1.6m.
So, option C is the correct option.
Note- Students must remember in order to convert meter into centimeter we multiply by 100. Length is a measure of distance. In the International System of Quantities, length is a quantity with dimension distance. In most systems of measurement a base unit for length is chosen, from which all other units are derived. In the International System of Units system the base unit for length is the meter. Other units of length are centimeter, millimeter, decimeter, decameter, kilometer etc.
