Hint – In this particular question first calculate all the items prices in Rs by using currency conversion (as 1 Japanese Yen = 0.70 Indian Rupee) then add all these Rs and subtract from 100 so use these concepts to reach the solution of the question.

Complete step-by-step answer:
Given data:
Anil gave a 100 rupee note to the shopkeeper (i.e. 100 Rs.)
Now the currency used in the question is yen (¥) (i.e. Japanese currency) and we all know that
1 Japanese Yen = 0.70 Indian Rupee
$\left( a \right)$ Three packet potato chips at ¥ 20.50 per packet
So the cost of three packet potato chips = 3(20.50) = 61.5 ¥
As 1 ¥ = 0.70 Rs.
So 61.5 ¥ = 61.5 (0.70) = 43.05 Rs.
So he has to pay the shopkeeper 43.05 Rs.
$\left( b \right)$ Two packets cream biscuits at ¥ 10.50 per packet.
So the cost of two packet cream biscuits = 2(10.50) = 21 ¥
As 1 ¥ = 0.70 Rs.
So 21 ¥ = 21 (0.70) = 14.7 Rs.
So he has to pay the shopkeeper 14.7 Rs.
$\left( c \right)$ Six pastries at ¥ 3.5 per pastry.
So the cost of six pastries = 6(3.5) = 21 ¥
As 1 ¥ = 0.70 Rs.
So 21 ¥ = 21 (0.70) = 14.7 Rs.
So he has to pay the shopkeeper 14.7 Rs.
$\left( d \right)$ One Pepsi for ¥ 20.
So the cost of one Pepsi = 20 ¥
As 1 ¥ = 0.70 Rs.
So 20 ¥ = 20 (0.70) = 14 Rs.
So he has to pay the shopkeeper 14 Rs.
So the bill of these items are (43.05 + 14.7 + 14 .7 + 14) = 86.45 Rs.
And he gave 100 Rs to the shopkeeper so the balance he got back is = (100 – 86.45) = 13.55 Rs.
So this is the required answer.

Note – Whenever we face such types of question the key concept we have to remember is that that the balance he got back is the difference of the Rs which he gave to the shopkeeper and the total price of the purchased items in rupees, so first calculate the total price of the purchased items in Rs by using currency conversion as above then subtract it from the 100 Rs and simplify we will get the required balance.
