Article 66 of the Indian constitution describes the manner of election of the vice president in India. According to which the vice president is indirectly elected by the members of an electoral college which consist the members of both the houses of the parliament i.e Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The vice president of India is also called as ex officio chairperson of the Rajya Sabha.
