Hint: In this question, by using the “Rules of Addition of Decimal Numbers,” we have to add the given decimals and find the total sum. The decimals are defined as the numbers whose fraction part or the number part are separated by a point, also known as the “decimal point.”

Complete step-by-step answer:
(i) Write all the decimal numbers under each other and the decimal point of all the numbers should be lined up.
(ii) If a number has no decimal point, then add one decimal point and put zeros after it, so all the numbers have the same length after the decimal point.
(iii) Now add all the numbers, column by column and calculate the total sum.
Given:
The given decimals are as following-
\[9.6,14.8,37\]and \[5.9\].
Now, by the definition of the decimals, we know that any decimal number has a decimal point present between numbers. But in 37 there is no decimal point given, so we have to write the number in the decimal form.
So, the number 37 can also be written as 37.0
Now we have to add all of these decimal numbers and find the total sum. So, the addition of these decimals is given by-
$\begin{array}{c}9.6\\14.8\\37.0\\ + 5.9\end{array}$
$67.3$

Total sum$ = 67.3$
Therefore, the total sum calculated by adding the decimals is 67.3

Note: In the addition of the decimal numbers, the numbers that are on the right side of the decimal points are only added with other decimal number’s right side of the decimal points. As we move to the left side of the decimal number, the value gets 10 times bigger than before. Similarly, as we move to the right side of the decimal number, the value gets 10 times smaller than before.
