Rhythm method is also termed as periodic or temporary abstinence method since it requires refraining from any sexual activity or intercourse when the conceiving is most likely to take place i.e. a few days before and after ovulation as this period is highest probability for fertilisation. Any sort of changes is the cervical mucus as well as the body temperature are subjected to the ovulatory phase in the menstrual cycle occurring.
