Hence when hot air enters a given space it will always rise up such that the cold air moves down. In the winter season, the air surrounding us is colder as compared to our body temperature. Hence the heat from our body flows to the surrounding. Therefore we put the heaters on such that the heat from it keeps us warmer.
Let us say we place the heater at a particular height. Such that it is above our height level. Since the heater warms the air surrounding it, all the hot air will move upwards from that height itself and we will not feel the hot air.
