In a recent notification released by UGC, universities are asked to refund the entire fee in case of cancellation of admission or migration of students. Any admission cancelled till October 31, 2022, will be eligible to get a refund. This step is taken to avoid financial hardship being faced by parents due to Covid-19.

If a student decides to apply to any other college or cancel the admission after one month from the start of the academic session, the particular student will not be eligible to get a refund.

In addition, UGC also requested the higher educational institutions to decide the last date of their UG admission process after the declaration of the result of the CBSE Class 12 exams in order to provide enough time to the students to prepare for the admission process.

Many competitive exams are yet to be conducted like CUET 2022 phase II and JEE Advanced 2022, and the results will further take 15 days. There are cases where students tend to reserve a seat in private colleges as a backup. For such cases, UGC decided to extend the cancellation deadline to October 31, 2022.
