The National Testing Agency (NTA) has unveiled its calendar for the year 2024, and it includes the NEET UG 2024 examination scheduled for May 5, 2024. The application window for this exam will become available next year, allowing students to complete their registration on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
The sole requirement is that candidates must have reached the age of 17 at the time of admission or will attain this age on or before December 31 of the year they are seeking admission to the course.
For candidates falling under the categories of Non-Residential Indian (NRI), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and foreign nationals, they are required to provide certificates confirming their status from the relevant Indian Diplomatic Mission in their country of residence to support their claim. There is no upper age limit for these categories.
Similar to previous years, the exam is administered in a pen-and-paper format with a total duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes. The paper is segmented into four sections, namely Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, and Physics. Each section comprises two parts: Section A, with 35 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) accounting for 140 marks, and Section B, with 15 MCQs worth 40 marks. In total, the examination is scored out of 720 marks, with all questions being in the MCQ format.
Students should note that the examination fee is non-refundable. Once it is paid, it cannot be carried ahead or transferred.
