The number of NEET exam centres has been increased from 2546 to 3843 in light of maintaining the safety measures and social distancing amid COVID-19 pandemic.
This year NEET aspirants will have to fill in a self-declaration form while downloading the admit card online. This will contain a list of precautionary measures that the students will have to follow during the exam. It is mandatory to carry the hardcopy of the self-declaration form along with the NEET admit card on the day of the exam.
Recently, NTA has released the standard operating procedures regarding the safety protocols so that all the entrance exams can be held safely and peacefully.
As mentioned earlier, the number of examination centres has been increased by NTA in order to meet the social distancing norms. Not only that but also the number of students per room has also been decreased from 24 to 12 to ensure proper safety.
Exam centres will be sanitised properly and the students will be provided with a safety kit which includes masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant sprays.
Thermal screening of every student will be done at the gate of the NEET exam centre. Students who would have more than 99.4° Fahrenheit will have to sit in an isolated room.
All the required documents along with the NEET 2020 admit card will have to be displayed from a certain distance for the verification process. Otherwise, there will be a barcode reader to scan the admit card in order to avoid any kind of physical frisking.
Adequate arrangements will be made outside the examination centres to enable candidates to maintain the social distance while waiting for the exam centre’s gate to open.
Students need to carry a self-declaration form with them on the day of the exam to state that they have COVID free health status. This self-declaration form can be accessed online during the time of admit card download.
Invigilators have also been asked to maintain the social distance and wear the safety gear (mask, gloves) to ensure that there is no physical touch.
NTA has requested the state governments to extend their support so that the candidates can reach their examination centres on time.
