Changes in the Curriculum for Commerce XI & XII

The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the CBSE Commerce syllabus 2021 Class 11th & 12th pdf for all courses. Commerce Class 11 Term 1 Exam Pattern & Timelines

Furthermore, the board test for AY 2021-22 will be divided into two terms, with each term covering about half of the material. Internal Assessment (through the year, regardless of Term I and II) will consist of end-of-topic or unit examinations, exploratory activities, practicals, and projects.

Internal Assessment Guidelines for all courses will be issued alongside the rationalized term-wise split curriculum for the session AY 2021-22.

Commerce Class 11 Term 2 Exam Patterns And Timelines

According to CBSE Announcement, Class 11 Term 2 Exam 2021-22 is expected to include a subjective paper of 2 hours duration with questions of various types (for example, case-based/situation-based, open-ended - short answer/long response type). The term 2 evaluation will be based on 50% of the CBSE Class 11 Syllabus. Throughout the year, exploratory activities/practical exams/projects/unit assessments will be held.

Commerce Class 12 Term 2 Exam Pattern & Timelines

The Board would organize Term II or Year-end Examination at the end of the second term based only on the streamlined curriculum of Term II (i.e. approximately 50 percent of the entire syllabus). The exam dates/timelines haven’t been released but the test is expected to be held in March-April 2022 at the examination centres designated by the Board. The paper will last 2 hours and will include questions of various types (case-based/situation-based, open ended-short response/long answer type). If the circumstances do not allow for a regular descriptive test, a 90-minute MCQ-based exam will be held at the conclusion of Term II as well. The marks from the Term II Examination will be added to the final total score.

Evaluation & Assessment and Result Calculation For CBSE Board

The board also explained how the weightage of the two tests in the students' final score will differ depending on how they are administered. If students take their examinations at schools or approved testing locations, the marks will be divided evenly across the two tests. If the second term test is taken at centres in March-April 2022, its weightage in the final score will be increased. If the second term exams cannot be held in person, the weightage of marks from the first term exams will be raised to produce year-end results. If students are required to take examinations from home for both terms, the CBSE will consider the students' internal assessment, practical work, and projects to guarantee the validity and reliability of the evaluation.
