Introduction to the Topic Integers

Integers are any numbers that appear in a set of combinations of all the aforementioned types of numbers. Integer sets are composed of all-natural numbers, whole numbers, and negative numbers. It can be expressed in the following way:


(……-3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, ……)


All-natural numbers are integers, and all whole numbers and negative numbers are integers. If two or more integers are added together, they become an integer. For example, 2 + 4 + (-2) = 4. Additionally, you can subtract 2 integers to get an integer, for example 2 + (-4) = -2. In the same way, multiplication by two integers yields an integer, for instance, 2 × -4 = -8.


There are no fractions, i.e. p/q form, or decimal numbers, such as 2.4, 3.2, etc, in the set of integers. Unlike all other sets, the set of integers has no end, which means it cannot be ended. Because there is always another number that is either an increment or a decrement of 1 for every positive or negative number. So, the set of integers is inexhaustible and cannot be bound.

 

Z represents a set of integers, which includes the following:

  • Positive integers are those that are greater than zero. For example, 1, 2, 3 . . .

  • Negative integers are those that are less than zero. For example: -1, -2, -3 . . .

  • Zero is neither a negative nor a positive integer. Zero is a whole number.

      Z = {... -7, -6, -5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, ...}
