The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has confirmed to discontinue the KVPY fellowship exam from 2022 onwards. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana will now be combined with INSPIRE fellowship.
The official notification read, “ DST has decided to subsume KVYP with INSPIRE. KVPY Aptitude test will not be conducted form the year 2022 onwards. Ongoing KVPY fellows will continue to receive fellowship as per norms from DST.” Interested individuals can visit (kvpy.iisc.ernet.in) to read the full notification.

Successful students of KVPY 2021 will continue to receive support as usual. IISc Bangalore declared the KVPY 2021 results on June 24 for all three streams - SA, SB and SX. The aim of the KVPY exam was to motivate students to pursue basic science courses from an early age. The KVPY was conducted by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, on behalf of DST.
Similarly, the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) fellowship programme is designed to boost youngsters to pursue a career in Science. Further, its aim is to strengthen the base of the Science & Technology stream and the R & D base of the nation.
