Hint: Elements are arranged in a tabular form called periodic table and there are 115 elements present in the periodic table. There are similarities as well as differences in the properties of these elements. On the basis of these properties elements can be divided into metals and non-metals.

Complete answer:
Mixed metals are generally known by the name alloys where they can be described as a combination of two or more metals or metals combined with one or more other elements. The resulting mixture forms a substance with properties that often differ from those of the pure metals such as increased strength or hardness. For example combining the metallic elements gold and copper produces red gold, gold and silver becomes white gold, and silver combined with copper produces sterling silver. An alloy may be a solid solution of metal elements in which all metallic crystals are of the same composition or a mixture of metallic phases. Alloys are defined by a metallic bonding character. The alloy constituents are usually measured by mass percentage for practical applications. Depending on the atomic arrangement alloys can be classified as substitutional or interstitial alloys. Which can further also be classified as homogeneous those which consist of a single phase only or heterogeneous which consists of two or more phases.

Note:
Alloys are used in many applications like the steel alloys used in everything like in buildings, automobiles, surgical tools, titanium-alloys used in the aerospace industry. In some cases combinations of metals reduce the overall cost of the material by maintaining its important properties. Also the combination of metals imparts synergistic properties to the constituent metal elements such as corrosion resistance or mechanical strength.
