Uttar Pradesh's Class 10 and 12 board exams are gearing up for a tech-powered upgrade in 2024! The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is introducing unique QR-coded identity cards for invigilators to ensure fair and transparent exams. This move aims to curb cheating and impersonation, making the process more secure for over 55 lakh students.

UP Board Exams 2024 Go High-Tech! QR-Coded Invigilators Crack Down on Cheating

Here's How it Works:

  • Unique QR Codes and Serial Numbers: Each invigilator's ID card will have a specific QR code and serial number, making it impossible to duplicate or fake.

  • Download and Distribution: District school inspectors (DIOSs) will download the ID cards from the official UPMSP website a week before the exams and distribute them to invigilators.

  • Subject Expertise Displayed: The ID cards will also show the subject the invigilator is qualified to teach. This allows other qualified teachers to step in if needed, especially if they know a different subject from the one being tested that day. This reduces the risk of invigilators aiding students in cheating.

Benefits of the New System:

  • Enhanced Security: The QR codes and unique serial numbers make impersonation and cheating attempts nearly impossible.

  • Transparency and Accountability: The system ensures clear identification of invigilators and their assigned subjects, promoting transparency.

  • Fairness for All Students: This tech-driven approach creates a level playing field for all students, ensuring a fair and honest exam environment.

Exam Dates and Schedule:

  • The UPMSP 10th board exams will be held from February 22 to March 9, 2024.

  • The Class 12 UP board exams will also take place during the same period.

  • The exams will be conducted at 8,264 centers across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

A record number of students: Over 55 lakh students have registered for the UP Board Exams 2024, highlighting the importance of a secure and reliable exam process.

Previous Measures Against Cheating:

  • In 2023, the Uttar Pradesh government deployed the Special Task Force (STF) to monitor and prevent cheating during board exams.

  • Strict regulations were implemented, with any attempt to disrupt the exams or manipulate the system potentially leading to prosecution under the Gangster Act.

UPMSP's Commitment to Fair Exams:

The introduction of QR-coded ID cards for invigilators demonstrates UPMSP's commitment to conducting fair and transparent board exams. This tech-driven approach is a significant step towards ensuring a level playing field for all students and upholding the integrity of the examination process.

With these new measures in place, students can focus on their preparations and confidently face their exams, knowing that fairness and transparency are prioritised.
