Following the cancellation of the CBSE Class 10th exam, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has also postponed the Class 10th and Class 12th of the ICSE board examinations due to the COVID-19 cases spike. The authority has also added that the decision regarding the commencement of the exams will be taken in the month of June 2021 considering the pandemic situation at that time.

Class 10th and Class 12th ICSE students must keep an eye on the official website of CISCE as the board said that the fresh dates might be issued in June 2021 after carefully examining the coronavirus threats.

ICSE said in an official statement, “The Covid situation will be closely monitored and the deferment of the ICSE & ISC 2021 Examinations will be reviewed and a final decision on the conduct of the board examinations will be taken by the 1st week of June 2021.”

The board has also given an opportunity to the Class 10th students to opt for appearing or not appearing in the examinations as per their choice. “In case of ICSE (Class 10) students opting for not appearing for the offline exams, the CISCE will develop a fair and unbiased criterion while preparing the results of such candidates,” the official statement reads.

As per the previous schedule, which has now been scrapped, ICSE Class 10th exams were supposed to be held between May 4 and June 7, 2021, and the Class 12th exams in between April 8 and June 18, 2021, respectively. Now the students have to wait until June for any further updates.

This announcement of ICSE exam postponement has come days after the Class 10th exam cancellation and Class 12th exam postponement of the CBSE board, as declared by the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.
