The schedule for CBSE 10th and 12th compartmental examinations has been released this Friday by the Central Board of Secondary Examinations. The compartmental examinations are scheduled to begin on September 22 and will continue till September 29. Students may hereby note that the compartmental examinations will be conducted for theoretical as well as practical papers.
The class 10 compartmental examinations are scheduled to be conducted from September 22 to 28, with exemptions on September 24 and 27. The compartmental examinations for class 12 are scheduled to be conducted from September 22 to 29, with an exemption on September 27. The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts these particular set of examinations to provide an opportunity for the students of classes 10th and 12th to clear their backlogs in the board examinations.
For the current pandemic situation of COVID-19, all students are instructed to wear cloth masks covering their nose and mouth, when they come for the compartmental examinations. They will have to abide by the social distancing norms inside the premises of exam centers. Also, every student must carry his or her personal hand sanitizers in transparent bottles.
The CBSE board is all set to conduct compartmental examinations for the practical papers. Just to elaborate, there are certain subjects, in the curriculum of classes 10th and 12th, which cover laboratory work. Students having backlogs in any practical paper will thereby get an opportunity to re-appear in the same. To acquire a passing grade in such subjects, students are required to re-appear in the concerned theory paper as well. They can re-appear in the compartmental examination for the concerned theory paper, provided they are able to pass the practical paper.
Regular candidates can take the compartmental examinations for any practical papers at their own schools. For private candidates, the compartmental examinations for practical papers will be conducted at the same exam center as for the theory papers, if not notified otherwise. The CBSE board has declared that the compartmental examinations for practical papers have to be scheduled before September 28. So all private candidates should inquire of the dates and time of the concerned practical compartmental examinations, at the Principal office of their theory exam centers.
The compartmental examinations are scheduled to begin at 10 A.M. Students will get the answer scripts by 10:15 A.M. and their writing time will begin from 10:30 A.M.

All students must furnish their admit cards at the exam centers and they must follow the instructions given on the admit card. The question papers will be distributed at 10:15 A.M. and thereafter a reading time of 15 minutes will be provided, and all students will have to start writing at 10:30 A.M. Also, students are suggested to stay updated about the relevant information of compartmental examinations through their respective schools and exam centers.
