MHT CET exam is the Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test. It is held by the State Common Entrance Test cell for admission in various government institutes. What are the Important Dates of MHT CET?

  • The online application started from the 7th of January 2020. 

  • You can apply till the last date of application which is February 29, 2020.

  • The admit card will be available on the official website from 5th -23rd April.

  • The MHT CET 2020 exam will be held in two phases in April. One will take place during April 13-17, 2020 and another set of exams will be 20-23rd April 2020. 

  • The results will be announced by the second week of June 2020.

  • The merit list of MHT CET 2020 will be released around the first week of July and after the provisional merit list is out earlier.  

  • The MHT CET counselling 2020 will follow in the coming weeks of July and it is expected to be over by the first week of August. 

How is the Merit List of MHT CET 2020 Prepared?

The marks as obtained by the numerous aspirants appearing for the MHT CET 2020 exam will be taken into consideration for preparing the merit list. The exams that will be held from April 13-23, 2020 will determine the lowest and highest marks to be included in the merit list. If more than one candidate obtains similar marks, the tie will be broken by considering other variables such as:

  • Candidate scoring higher in Mathematics gets the first preference. 

  • If tie sustains, the score of Physics and Chemistry is considered respectively as obtained at CET

  • Marks obtained in the Board examinations will come next for breaking the tie. 

  • Following this, the percentage of marks obtained in Mathematics and Physics at HSC is considered next (one after another if the tie remains after Mathematics score tally)

  • Lastly, the candidate with higher aggregate percentage as obtained at HSC will be selected.

How Will the MHT CET 2020 Exam be Held?

The MHT CET 2020 exam will be held in CBT mode. The number of questions will vary depending on the course chosen by the candidate. If you are appearing for the PCM group there will be 150 questions in the question paper. However, for the PCB group you will be given 200 questions. If you are pursuing any of the agriculture courses your MHT CET question paper will have 150 questions.

All the question papers will be of hundred marks each. You are required to solve the question paper in 180 minutes or 3 hours. There are no negative marking penalties offered to students for wrong answers. For each correct answer, you will be awarded +2 marks in Mathematics and +1 for the other subjects.

How will MHT CET 2020 Exam Calculation be Done?

The formula for calculation of the MHT CET score is: MHT CET score= (Total correct answers in Maths ×2) + (Total correct answers in other subjects)

How to Check the Result of the MHT CET 2020 Exam?

The results for the MHT CET exam 2020 will be released on or before 3rd July 2020. The result will contain the overall marks you scored and your rank according to the scored marks.

You must carefully check for the following details on your merit card: 

  • Name of the candidate

  • Overall score

  • Overall rank

  • Sectional score

  • Qualification status

  • Name of your parents

  • Your Application number

  • The Subjects you appeared for

  • The category you had applied under

What Should You Keep in Mind About MHT CET Merit List 2020?

You can only avail the merit list via online mode. There won’t be any offline facilities. 

Each category will have its own merit list. That means, different merit lists for different categories such as Maharashtra, All India, Migrant, NRI- will be available. 

PIO/OCI/CIWG/FN category will have a separate merit list for the candidates who qualify the exam.

The final merit list will be published only after the provisional merit list. Candidates with grievances about the list can lodge the same and after clarification, the final list will be issued.

Your rank and marks obtained in the merit list will determine whether you will be called for the MHT CET counselling 2020 or not.

How to Check the MHT CET Merit List 2020?

You can check the MHT CET merit list 2020 by logging in to the official website of MHT CET. The list will comprise of the names of the candidates shortlisted for MHT CET Counselling 2020. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance test. You can check the provisional merit list on the official website. You will be required to enter your application ID and password in the link to check if your name is present in the merit list.

How Will be the MHT CET Counselling 2020?

The counselling is entirely dependent on the merit list published earlier. Generally, the counselling comprises three rounds for the qualified candidates. After these three rounds are over and seats are found to be vacant, a spot round will be held later. 

The process of counselling will be conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell only. There will be no counselling fee for the candidates who qualified MHT CET exam 2020. However, if you are applying on the basis of your JEE Mains score then you will have to pay the counselling fee. 

The counselling fee is 800 INR for candidates of general category, applicants outside Maharashtra state and also for the children of the Indian workers in Gulf countries.

The counselling fee has been reduced to 600 INR for the candidates of reserved category and persons with disability from Maharashtra.

For candidates who are children of NRI /OCI/PIO/ Foreign Nationals, the fee is 5000 INR.
