Candidates are required to know their marks vs percentile to have an idea about their all India Rank in JEE Main and Advanced 2022. After the declaration of JEE Main 2022 results, candidates will be able to check the JEE Main marks that place them to a certain JEE Main percentile calculated after normalisation.

JEE Main 2022 result will be declared separately for each of the sessions on official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The best of the NTA scores will be considered. The JEE Main 2022 merit list will be based on the final scores and ranks that have been announced. Similarly, JEE Advanced marks vs ranks will provide students an idea of the rank expected in the examination according to the marks scored by the candidate.

In this article, you will get complete details of JEE Main Marks Vs Percentile and JEE Advanced Marks Vs Percentile.

JEE Main 2022 Marks vs Percentile - Normalisation

When the exam is conducted into two sessions, normalisation is used to balance the difficulty levels. Therefore, the National Testing Agency will declare the percentile in JEE Main 2022 obtained after normalisation. Percentile scores indicates the percentage of candidates that have scored equal to or below (same or lower raw scores) that particular percentile in that examination and this is generally from a scale of 100 to 0 for each session of examinees. Therefore, the higher scorer of each JEE Main 2022 session will end up securing the same percentile of 100 which is desirable.

Percentile Calculation in JEE Main Result 2022

The NTA uses the normalisation formula to calculate the JEE Main percentile for individual subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) as well as the combined format.

Calculating JEE Main Percentile

Total Percentile (T1P):

(100 x Number of students from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the T1 score) / Total No. of students attempted in the session

Mathematics Percentile (M1P)

(100 x Number of Students attempted from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the M1 score in Mathematics)

/ Total Number of Students attempted in the session

Physics Percentile (P1P)

(100 x Number of Students attempted from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the P1 score in Physics) / Total Number of Students attempted in the session

Chemistry Percentile (C1P):

(100 x Number of Students attempted from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the C1 score in Chemistry) / Total Number of Students attempted in the session
