This year the JEE Main will be conducted in two sessions for admission in the year 2024. The first session for the JEE Main 2024 to be conducted in the month of January, 2024. A candidate can fill in JEE Main form with any of the following identity cards: Passport, Aadhaar, ration card, Bank account, or any other Government ID details that are valid.

Unlike the previous year, candidates can not pay the fees for all sessions at once. A candidate can apply only for one session in the given duration. To apply for another session, he/she needs to apply again.
JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024
Before you initiate the registration for JEE Main 2024 and start filling up the application form, you must be aware of JEE Main 2024 eligibility criteria.
A candidate needs to meet the following eligibility criteria for JEE Main:
1. Age Limit You Need to Meet
There is no age bar for the candidate to apply for JEE Main 2024.
2. Educational Qualification
Candidates should have Physics and Mathematics in the above exam as their compulsory subjects.
Candidates must also have one main subject among Chemistry/Biotechnology/biology or Technical vocational subject.
For paper 2 (B.Arch.), candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics among the mandatory subjects in their 12th.
The criteria of securing an aggregate of at least 75% in the Class 12th exams has been removed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. With the latest notification released by NTA, no specific guidelines have been given related to the minimum marks required to get admission to IIT or NIT.
3. Appearance in the Qualifying Exam
To appear in the JEE Main exam, a candidate must have passed the 12th or its equivalent exam in the year 2021 or 2022. Those appearing in their 12th exam or its equivalent qualification in 2024 itself are also eligible to apply for the exam. Candidates who have passed the 12/equivalent examination in 2020 or earlier are not eligible to apply for the JEE Main 2024 exam.

How to Fill Out the JEE Main Application Form 2024?
Candidates who have already filled in the JEE Main application form in December can also fill in the forms of another session later when the application window opens.
However, for a fresh candidate, requirements are different in the sense that they need to register first and then follow all the procedures related to filling up this application form.
So, here’s how to fill out the JEE Main application form!
You must fill out the JEE Main form at one go and complete the application. A partially filled-up form will not be accepted. Follow this process to fill out the JEE Main application form.
Step 1 – Registration
Go to the official website of NTA/JEE Main and proceed to apply.
Next, fill the authentication form available on the page with the required details, namely nationality, eligibility state, state from which you appeared on your 12th or an equivalent exam, type of identification, name, date of birth, gender, security pin, and any other required information.
If you have chosen Aadhaar as your type of identity, you will have to fill in the 12-digit Aadhaar number allotted to you.
Note: Aspirants applying for JEE Main 2024 exams will have to furnish the following information:
Candidate details like nationality, category, permanent address, birth district, religion, minority status, and disability status.
Academic details such as year of passing 12th marks obtained or percentage secured, district of appearing 10th and 12th, language selected for question paper, code of qualifying exam, and the school education board from which they appeared.
Other details like self-declaration, identity card details and qualifications, occupations and income of parents or guardians.
Step 2 – Uploading Scanned Documents
After candidates fill in the online form, they need to scan and upload the required document, photograph, and signature as specified in the guidelines by NTA.
Towards this requirement, candidates must note that:
If an application form contains an unclear photograph, it is liable to face rejection.
After filling up this form, candidates must keep at least 6-8 photographs in reserve with them as those will be required at the time of the exam, allotment of seat, admission, etc.
If candidates are applying in the reserved category, they must have obtained a caste certificate from an authority concerned.
Step 3 – Payment of Application Fee for JEE Main 2024
The third step of how to fill the JEE Main 2024 application form is that candidates must be ready to follow the payment procedure.
A candidate can pay the registration fee for JEE Main application through different online modes, namely debit card, credit card, net banking, PayTM, SBI Buddy Wallets, cash cards, and more.
They can also pay the fees through e-challan. To pay the application fee through this mode, they can visit their nearest branch of Syndicate Bank, ICICI Bank, or Canara bank and receive the challan with stipulated payment.
After making the payment, candidates will receive an option to book their slot for the computer-based test or CBT. Here, they need to choose a suitable test centre and date to appear for the first paper of the online exam. On selecting it, they will be directed to the confirmation page.
Step 4 – Downloading the Acknowledgement Page
After you have made a successful payment of the application fee, you will receive an acknowledgement of the payment. It is advisable that a candidate downloads this page for future reference and as proof of successful form fill-up.
Here, candidates should note that they do not need to send this acknowledgement to the secretariat for JEE Main 2024. Often, candidates end up doing so, which is not required by its authority.

While Paying JEE Main Application Fee 2024, a Candidate Must Note the Following:
Any payment made through money order, IPO, demand draft, or any other mode as not mentioned in NTA guidelines will result in this application form being rejected.
Under no circumstance will an application fee once paid be refunded.
For payment through debit card, candidates will have to pay 0.75% of the fee plus service tax, if any, on an amount of up to Rs. 2,000. Paying a fee of above Rs. 2,000 will attract a 1% charge plus service tax on the given amount.
As for payment through credit card, a service charge of 1.20% plus applicable service tax is chargeable.

Open the official website for filling up the form online.
Click on the link ‘Apply for JEE Main 2024’.
Go through all the given instructions one by one.
Click on the link saying ‘Proceed to apply online’.
Fill out all details required in the authentication form as mentioned earlier and submit.
Candidates who have already registered in the previous window need to log in by entering their JEE Main login credentials.
Fill-up all required personal, educational, or any other necessary details and click on the ‘next’ button.
Glance through and see if you have filled all the details correctly or not. Check and submit.
Note down the generated application number showing on the screen.
Verify with your email id and mobile number.
Follow it with uploading the scanned images, documents, and signature.
Re-check the application form and proceed to make the application payment.
If you have opted for online payment, enter the necessary credentials and pay. If you have opted for offline payment, you will be asked for the details related to e-challan.
After completing payment, select the centre for CBT and your preferred exam date from the list and proceed.
Finally, complete it with receiving the confirmation through the acknowledgement page and obtaining a printed copy of the same.
