Follow this process to fill out the JEE Main application form:

Step 1 – Registration:

  • Go to the official website of NTA/JEE Main and proceed to fill the jee main .nta.nic.in registration form.

  • Candidate needs to select any one of the following to register or log in for JEE Main 2024:

  • Digi locker account through the NAD portal.

  • Academic Bank of Credits ID (ABC ID) through the ABC ID.

  • Indian Indian Passport Number.

  • Non-Indian Passport Number.

  • A PAN Card Number.

  • An Aadhaar Enrollment Number.

  • Those candidates who do not wish to register through the Digi Locker / ABC ID, need to report early (one hour before the entry time) at the examination Centre on the day of the examination.

  • Fill the authentication form available on the page with the required details, namely nationality, eligibility state, state from which you appeared on your 12th or an equivalent exam, type of identification, name, date of birth, gender, security pin, and any other required information.

  • Candidate details like nationality, category, permanent address, birth district, religion, minority status, and disability status.

  • Candidate needs to select options for Authentication at the Examination Centre.

  • Authenticate through an Aadhaar Card  or Valid Government ID with a Photograph.

  • Academic details such as year of passing 12th marks obtained or percentage secured, district of appearing 10th and 12th, the language selected for question paper, code of qualifying exam, and the school education board from which they appeared.

  • Other details like self-declaration, identity card details and qualifications, occupations, and income of parents or guardians.

  • During the Online Application Form submission, candidates need to provide necessary personal information and establish a PASSWORD. Additionally, they should select a Security Question and provide an Answer.

  • Once the personal details are successfully submitted, an Application number will be generated. This number is crucial for completing the remaining Application Form steps and for all future reference or correspondence.

  • The same application number will be used for both Sessions of JEE Main - 2024.

  • For subsequent logins, candidates can log in directly using the system-generated Application Number and the designated Password they created.

Step 2 – Uploading Scanned Documents:

  • Upon completion of the online form, candidates are required to adhere to NTA's guidelines by scanning and uploading the necessary documents, including photographs and signatures.

  • It's important to note that an application with an unclear photograph may be rejected.

  • Candidates are also advised to keep 6-8 additional photographs on hand, as they will be needed for various purposes such as the exam, seat allocation, and admission.

  • For those applying in the reserved category, securing a caste certificate from the relevant authority is mandatory.

What are the important points to note while uploading scanned Images of the Candidate’s Photograph, Signature, and PwD Certificate/UDID Card (Swawlamban Card)?:

  • The latest photograph must show the face with 80% visibility (without a mask) against a white background, whether it's in color or black & white.

  • The scanned photograph and signature should be in a clear JPG/JPEG format.

  • The photograph's size should range from 10 kb to 200 kb and Dimensions should be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm

  • Signature's size should be from 4 kb to 30 kb, and Dimension should be 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm.

  • The scanned PwD certificate should be a legible pdf between 50 kb to 300 kb.

Step 3 – Payment of Application Fee for JEE Main 2024:

  • The third step of how to fill the JEE Main 2024 application form is that candidates must be ready to follow the payment procedure.

  • A candidate can pay the registration fee for the JEE Main application through different online modes, namely debit card, credit card, net banking, PayTM, SBI Buddy Wallets, cash cards, and more.

  • After making the payment, candidates will receive an option to book their slot for the computer-based test or CBT. Here, they need to choose a suitable test center and date to appear for the first paper of the online exam. On selecting it, they will be directed to the confirmation page.

All the above 3 Steps can be done together or at separate times. The candidate's Application submission can be deemed as successful, and their eligibility confirmed, only when the prescribed application fee is successfully received through the transaction.

Step 4 – Downloading the Acknowledgement Page:

  • After you have made a successful payment of the application fee, you will receive an acknowledgment of the payment. A candidate should download this page for future reference and as proof of successful form fill-up.

  • Here, candidates should note that they do not need to send this acknowledgment to the secretariat for JEE Main 2024. Often, candidates end up doing so, which is not required by its authority.

  • NTA has facilitated all candidates with an additional platform of UMANG and DigiLocker to download their documents like Confirmation Page, Admit Card, Score Cards, etc.

This was all related to the steps to fill out the JEE Main 2024 application form. While following this procedure, as a candidate, you must make sure not to end up filling multiple forms consecutively as they will get rejected.

As for those who have already registered in the previous window of the same session, they only need to log in and fill up all the necessary details required.
