Some Important Points to Keep in Mind in JEE Advanced Reservation

  • The Gen-EWS reservation advantages are only available to General category candidates who meet the requirements outlined in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment's OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC-II dated January 17, 2019.

  • Candidates will be unable to claim the reservation if their category is not included on the Government of India's central list of relevant states.

  • The criteria for Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) would be as per the Government of India's regulation.

  • Candidates from the creamy layer are NOT eligible for the Reservation Criteria in JEE Advanced 2023. These candidates will be classified as General, unreserved, and will be eligible solely for OPEN seats.

  • The vacant seats in the G5EN-EWS and OBC-NCL categories will be changed to OPEN seats.

  • However, vacant seats in the SC and ST categories would NOT be de-reserved to any other category.

  • The reserve for those with disabilities is horizontal. As a result, unfilled seats in the appropriate categories will be de-reserved, and unfilled SC-PwD seats will convert to SC category seats, and so on.
