  • Magnifying glass

  • A shoe box

  • Cello tape

  • Cutter

  • Glue

  • Cardboard sheets

  • Marker/pencil

  • Double-sided tape

Here are the steps that you need to follow in order to make your own projector for your mobile phone easily. 


  1. Take your magnifying glass and remove the glass from the holder. You need to place the glass in the centre of the show box and use a marker to draw a circle around the show box. 

  2. Use a cutter to cleanly cut the portion that was marked using the magnifying glass. You can also use a protractor for this job. Also, going hands-free is an option. So, now there is a cavity on one of the shoe box’s sides where you can fit the magnifying glass. 

  3. Now, you can take your magnifying glass and add it to the cavity. Use duct tape or glue to fix the glass in its place. 

  4. The next thing to do is to create a stand for the mobile phone. You will have to measure the space inside the box and understand the dimensions. 

  5. Place two other cardboard sheets perpendicular to one another and have the longer edge stand out, running right along the middle of the board at the bottom. Now, you can apply some glue to the bottom edge and then press it until the board holds. Once the stand is created, place it inside your shoe box behind your magnifying glass. 

  6. You need to position your show box so that it faces a wall. You also need to maximize the brightness of your mobile phone. Apart from that, the position of the mobile phone away or closer to the lens will determine the sharpness of the images. 

  7. Once that is done, your projector is basically created. However, you will see that your images are upside down on the wall. This you can solve by keeping the orientation of the screen upside down and properly locking the screen mode. Your projector is completed.
